LIFEPATCH

Brief info

My name is Agung Firmanto Budiharto, a.k.a. Geger. I live in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I am one of the founders of Lifepatch—a citizen initiative working in the fields of art, science, and technology—and also co-founded URBANCULT.net, an online archive documenting street art.
I’m interested in fruit fermentation and the history of spices in Indonesia. Since 2019, I have been learning to make chocolate from cacao beans using simple tools, and I actively volunteer in sea turtle conservation projects. In 2022, I co-founded Kawan Pustaha, a collective dedicated to exploring and preserving ancient Batak manuscripts.
I enjoy participating in activities grounded in the DIY and DIWO spirit, particularly those related to environmental movements and cultural practices. In my artistic work, I occasionally use fabric printing, screen printing, and linocut techniques to convey ideas. I also enjoy reading, writing, gardening, and cycling.

My educational background is in Political Science and English Education from universities in Yogyakarta. I continue to explore bean-to-bar chocolate making and conduct workshops with local communities and students to create their own chocolate—as part of a broader effort to decolonize knowledge. I’m currently learning to be a storyteller—an amateur narrator, animator, and fixer—connecting and stitching together people’s minds and souls.
