Address: Yogyakarta
Brief info

Faried Noor Siregar (Askal) is an artist from Medan with a passion for learning new things. He recently graduated from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, majoring in Theatre. His involvement in a variety of artistic projects—from theatre to visual arts—demonstrates his interest in narrative, cultural heritage, and interdisciplinary practice.

For the past two years, he has been part of Kawan Pustaha, a collective focused on studying and transcribing Batak manuscripts, especially the Pustaha Lak-lak. Through this community, he has delved into Batak script and contributed to cultural preservation and repatriation efforts.

Askal’s interdisciplinary practice combines theatre, visual arts, cultural research, and archival work. He actively engages in collaborative projects that explore the intersections of art, history, and identity. His participation in research-based programs like Arus Balik by Lifepatch has deepened his artistic approach to understanding and representing culture through diverse media.
